At Elm Park Primary School, ICT is seen as a tool accessible by all children at all levels and which can be used to develop skills and learning across the curriculum. We promote continuity and progression across the school by following schemes of work for ICT and embedding ICT in schemes of work for other subjects. We expect high standards of ICT capability and achievement by all pupils, supported by staff who are confident, competent users of ICT. We allocate resources in a way that enhances and enriches pupils’ ICT learning experiences and promotes increasing independence in the selection and use of ICT. Given that the ability to use ICT effectively is an important life skill in modern society, we endeavour to equip all pupils with the ICT skills and knowledge required for their next key stage and for life beyond school.
